Deep in the rugged mountains of Death Valley is where we found Charlie Manson's infamous last hideout. Known as the Barker family ranch, Manson and his "family" rented the property giving the impression that they were a group of musicians that needed a place to practice.
On October 10 and October 12, 1969, a joint force of the Inyo County sheriff department, California Highway Patrol, and National Park Service raided the ranch and dragged a crazed Swastika-tattooed man out from under a bathroom vanity. They thought they were nabbing a group of local troublemakers, however it soon became clear that the Manson family was much more than that.
Below are some photos of what is left of the ranch today. Most of it has been burned.
