The Dalton Highway—often hailed as one of the most perilous roads in North America—presents a brutal trifecta: crushing isolation, rugged terrain, and merciless weather. Naturally, that only fueled our determination to take it on.

Before heading out, we talked to locals who didn’t sugarcoat the risks. Recent accidents were fresh in people’s minds, and we learned of a helicopter medevac that had occurred just a day before our departure. Still, armed with knowledge and caution, we felt ready to face whatever lay ahead. We lightened the load on our bikes - swapped our street tires for our trusted off road tire of choice - the @michelinmotorcycle Anakee Wilds, and we were ready to go.

We allotted four days to complete this final leg of our epic journey, with plans to rest at Coldfoot Camp —about halfway up the 500-mile stretch from Fairbanks. After tracking weather patterns obsessively, it was clear the latter half of our ride would be under siege by incoming storms. With damp dirt already under our tires, we knew adding rain to the equation would be a recipe for disaster.

Five hours and 250 miles later, we rolled into Coldfoot. The forecast gave us roughly a 24-hour window before the steady rains. We had to make a choice: wait or push forward. We chose to ride on.

After a demanding 12-hour haul, we arrived in Deadhorse greeted by biting 35-degree Arctic winds and the surreal sight of brown bears wandering down the streets.

Fatigue gave way to elation—we had done it. We had ridden the entire North American section of the legendary Pan-American Highway. But before we got too comfortable, one reality hit us like the cold wind: While the Dalton had treated us well, we had to ride it all over again the next morning.

Denali — also known as Mount McKinley — is the crown jewel of Denali National Park and Preserve, standing proudly as North America's tallest peak at 20,310 feet. Despite its towering presence, only about 30% of visitors are lucky enough to see its summit fully unveiled, as clouds often shroud the mountaintop.

After an educational visit to the park and its visitor center, we made our way to our accommodations for the night. As we unloaded our bikes, fortune smiled on us once again. Dean heard a loud crunching sound coming from the woods nearby. Curious, he went to investigate and spotted a female moose calmly emerging from the bushes—just feet from where our motorcycles were parked. He managed to snap several photos and a video of the unexpected visitor.

No trip to Homer, Alaska is complete without chasing the legendary halibut—and this place certainly lives up to its title as the halibut fishing capital of the world.

We set out on a small charter, venturing just roughly 20 miles into the 3-4 foot swells of Cook Inlet. Picture the SS Minnow getting tossing around for eight wild hours as we cast lines into the deep.

Luck (and skill) were on our side: we hit our catch limit within the timeframe. After eating our share of fresh Halibut that night, the rest was cryo-packed and shipped home—ready to fuel future meals and reflect on our past adventure.
